Trapsta: The Review Of Quality Dubstep

Do you like dub-step? If so then you should check out this man from Kansas City. If not then i encourage you to open your mind to a different art and teach your mind to try and enjoy any little thing about it.

Anyway, I myself did not use to enjoy dub-step, but it is an acquired taste like any other thing in existence which takes pursuit and time to acknowledge. I now love dub-step just as much as most other genres. I may not be the most knowledgeable on how it works, sounds, or how to make it, but this guy “Trapsta” does.

Trapsta is an underground exclusive, with wonky wubs that will keep you whipped. Formally known as Satchel Estep, he is only 17 years old! From my hometown Kansas City,  he is not signed to any label yet but definitley deserves some recognition. Hes been producing tracks for almost three years now, and mixing tracks starting in 2013. He has a melodic-ness to the chill beats exiting his mind through tunes. Settle bubble sounds and all your favorite wetness can fit really snug in your ears.  I actually have tried to produce music and dubstep sounds before this youngster before he shot me and some fellow friends out of the water with his techniques and straight thinking on how to master all his tunes to an ideal bassy dish.

If your looking for some good music, (dubstep or not) this guy can give it to you. Check him out on soundcloud! Give him some followers too, hes looking to release an EP at exactly 200 followers. Which i am doing an album cover for in case your interested in my art.

My Fourth Of July (A Compelling Story of Punks)

So at First I wasnt gonna blog about this event but i decided it really was influential enough on my minds development to explain to my followers and interest-ers.  But anyhoo, I had an awesome fourth of July this year. Started off the day grilling some nice big juicy pineapple bratwurst. http://instagram.com/p/bHTz9nCK_6/. For me and the family of course, along with the Famous Kc Royals baseball game. And to follow my first “Punk” concert. Which is going to be my focus point of this post.

The Royals Game:

Now in my experience of baseball games, they were always fun and something to do for the day but if my team was losing then it really started to drag on and i would become very anxious to leave the stadium. Todays game was different. I had high hopes for our Royals as they faced Cleveland and their Indians. It was real slow for the first five innings with the indians ahead 5 runs. We caught up with a grand slam and then a homerun with a single later. Up by two, they returned to our score of 7 and in the 8th inning we were up by three, Winning the game 10 to 7! A Great and Beautiful Game!

Now to non-sport fans i sound like im a fanboy hankering for a close game with all my favorite pros that i look up to and idolize. But honestly i never watch, listen, or keep up to date at all with baseball or sports in general unless im actually at the game itself. But this game inspired me again that there is a reason people do dream and follow the players. Its really fun and an interesting hobbie. I could easily get into it.

The “Punk” Concert:

Over the past few months i had somewhat respected the “punk” genre a little more and more. My friend Noah had always encouraged me and advocated all his favorite bands, mostly punk, and i had been “open minded” but not understanding. See before i said, “yea its good, just not for me. This is your kind of music, which is fine.” But now ive understood what the genre is about and the vibe of the people and feeling. I started listening to it on my own time a little more, but the 4th was the night i finally got to see it live. And if you didnt know, a musician or genre is never fully understood or appreciated until you’ve seen it live.

I have seen lots of different music tastes live before. Probably some subgenres im still missing out on, but ive been able to experience the people, envirenmont, music itself in that setting within various accounts. Personally I recommend everyone see and observe a live setting of the music of their choice to analyze the following:

1.How People Dress

2. How People Act

3.How People React

4.How the Music is Performed

I say to view these things simply because i find it interesting that its so different in almost every music scene, depending on how specific or broad the category of music is. So anyway heres some Pictures from that night taken by my friend i met there named Hudson Luce.

It was really a blast. The danger the Punks provide, yet goofy demeanor and gestures. There was lots of slam dancing and circling pits but no “moshing”. It was chill. We werent trying to push each other for violence or aggressive releases. But just mosh to our individual settings within a crowd, if that makes sense. Moshing= Having fun with pushing, shoving, swinging on others. Slam dancing= a dance with movement that sometimes requires running into one another indirectly. The really only differnce is how direct the pits were. Other than that though, the people were really fun. Dressed, miss matched, trashy, and patched to perfection, with all their favorite music attire, belts and studs. But personalitys were just normal people. Some that liked lots of drugs or alcohol. The show was at a house, and lots of these kids in the scene were blowing off fireworks IN the basement. It was pretty gnarly. As you can see in some of the pictures during the band Nuke Cult. The smoke was so immense they aired out the basement before returning back in there. I would definitley like to check out more of these shows in the future as well. Especially if there’s fireworks. I love Kansas City.

The Flies Pt. 2

The fly that i had let live in the past must have slipped my mind. He changed my perspective, yet i let that perspective slip from my grasp. I had been seeing more and more flies at my job. And without thinking of the creature itself anymore, i was thinking about my duty and ego. I had whacked a few flies, injuring them and caging them into the bug zapper. Trying desperately to get them electrocuted i never succeeded. I could hear throughout the day the flies being zapped occasionally but never had the chance to see it. I gave up on trying to zap them and now was in it to collect my trophies. I swatted a good accumulation within the past two or three weeks. The bottom of the cage was full with their carcasses. Yesterday i saw a desperate fly at the bottom of the cage that was still fluttering about frantically. He hit the bug zapper rods (which the whole time i thought it was the lights that shocked them) and got stuck at the bottom literally frying with an electric smokey flavor. If i hadnt witnessed it i would have indeed heard it. It was a long duration of shock venting through his body.

Now i was aware of how to properly utilize the bug zapper. I was excited to retry my attempts to shock the helpless invertebrates.

Today i found one on the floor and sprayed him with the water i was using to wash dishes. He became wet and heavy unable to fly. I picked a skewer up to lift him from the ground and he jumped on it quickly. Immediately I rushed him to the zapper and poked him in through the grate to give him a shock. he kept rotating and circling and running away from the rods, like he knew what these things were. Eventually with my efforts to dismember him so bad i successfully electrocuted the fly.

It didn’t satisfy me. In fact i felt remorse. This little guy was smart enough to avoid it. I was also inhumane enough to kill him using a method that was enabled for scared and stupid flies. I looked at the bottom of the cage and saw that the last batch of dead heads were evacuated. It was just the one that i had shocked. It emphasized the unfairness about the cat and mouse i just played.

I may “need” to kill these flies. Maybe they are a bother. I still don’t know their purpose of creation. But i do know this. The time i’ve examined their reactions and interests has brought me closer to them. Its like ive never known how a fly really felt to recently. I like them.
