Bommer EP (Album Art)

Bommer EP

Some art i didn’t finish. But apparently was good enough. He accepted it as a rough draft for his album art.

So its kind of a long story, but pretty much i was asked to do some album art for this Dubstep producer/re-mixer BOMMER. So i got to work on it, messaging Bommer himself for details and specifics as far as editing or placing his ideas into the art. Eventually i told him i was gonna send him what i had so far, and then he could tell me specifically what he wanted differently. Immediatley after responses and conversation up until this point, he stopped responding. I told him then if he didnt like it he should tell me to scrap it and start over. Still no response. So i gave up on working with it. Later i saw he had posted the album up on sound-cloud along with credit toward my art. The little guy sure surprised me.

In all seriousness though, this guy is a good dj. Ive listened to his productions and remixes and thoroughly enjoyed them. Another fine young dubstep artist in the making. This Ep specifically has him and another artist named Hendrix. Both genius producers! Its an honor to be featured as their album artist.

My Fourth Of July (A Compelling Story of Punks)

So at First I wasnt gonna blog about this event but i decided it really was influential enough on my minds development to explain to my followers and interest-ers.  But anyhoo, I had an awesome fourth of July this year. Started off the day grilling some nice big juicy pineapple bratwurst. http://instagram.com/p/bHTz9nCK_6/. For me and the family of course, along with the Famous Kc Royals baseball game. And to follow my first “Punk” concert. Which is going to be my focus point of this post.

The Royals Game:

Now in my experience of baseball games, they were always fun and something to do for the day but if my team was losing then it really started to drag on and i would become very anxious to leave the stadium. Todays game was different. I had high hopes for our Royals as they faced Cleveland and their Indians. It was real slow for the first five innings with the indians ahead 5 runs. We caught up with a grand slam and then a homerun with a single later. Up by two, they returned to our score of 7 and in the 8th inning we were up by three, Winning the game 10 to 7! A Great and Beautiful Game!

Now to non-sport fans i sound like im a fanboy hankering for a close game with all my favorite pros that i look up to and idolize. But honestly i never watch, listen, or keep up to date at all with baseball or sports in general unless im actually at the game itself. But this game inspired me again that there is a reason people do dream and follow the players. Its really fun and an interesting hobbie. I could easily get into it.

The “Punk” Concert:

Over the past few months i had somewhat respected the “punk” genre a little more and more. My friend Noah had always encouraged me and advocated all his favorite bands, mostly punk, and i had been “open minded” but not understanding. See before i said, “yea its good, just not for me. This is your kind of music, which is fine.” But now ive understood what the genre is about and the vibe of the people and feeling. I started listening to it on my own time a little more, but the 4th was the night i finally got to see it live. And if you didnt know, a musician or genre is never fully understood or appreciated until you’ve seen it live.

I have seen lots of different music tastes live before. Probably some subgenres im still missing out on, but ive been able to experience the people, envirenmont, music itself in that setting within various accounts. Personally I recommend everyone see and observe a live setting of the music of their choice to analyze the following:

1.How People Dress

2. How People Act

3.How People React

4.How the Music is Performed

I say to view these things simply because i find it interesting that its so different in almost every music scene, depending on how specific or broad the category of music is. So anyway heres some Pictures from that night taken by my friend i met there named Hudson Luce.

It was really a blast. The danger the Punks provide, yet goofy demeanor and gestures. There was lots of slam dancing and circling pits but no “moshing”. It was chill. We werent trying to push each other for violence or aggressive releases. But just mosh to our individual settings within a crowd, if that makes sense. Moshing= Having fun with pushing, shoving, swinging on others. Slam dancing= a dance with movement that sometimes requires running into one another indirectly. The really only differnce is how direct the pits were. Other than that though, the people were really fun. Dressed, miss matched, trashy, and patched to perfection, with all their favorite music attire, belts and studs. But personalitys were just normal people. Some that liked lots of drugs or alcohol. The show was at a house, and lots of these kids in the scene were blowing off fireworks IN the basement. It was pretty gnarly. As you can see in some of the pictures during the band Nuke Cult. The smoke was so immense they aired out the basement before returning back in there. I would definitley like to check out more of these shows in the future as well. Especially if there’s fireworks. I love Kansas City.

Ill miss you Fly

Theres been this fly at my work, ive been trying to catch for a few days. Ive watched him grow, and today i finally caught him. I accidently wounded him inside the bag where he was contained, but i decided to cage him in where the bugzapper was. He seemed aware of the credibility of this place and avoided it at all costs. He then landed on the floor of the cage where all the dead flies lyed. He seemed to acknowledge the fact that this bugzapper was indeed their fate and that he was not interested in accepting that fate. He tried massging his wounds and cleaning his wings for a good duration, with only the persistence to recover. After a long period of time trying to heal, he realized it couldnt be done and he proceeded to walk around the despair displayed by the others that had suffered. He grew weary. I Decided to put him out of his misery and throw him into the zapper. He kept flying away from it. He was persistent to keep his dignity. Ill let him live with his honor. I respect the fly and the the challenge i had to defeat him. It was a good run.
